How long is forever? - Two-part social factual with Janin Ullmann
Couples give personal insights + do the love check in experiments. Together with experts, Janin Ullmann wants to clarify whether "forever" is a contemporary relationship model. Central questions are: Why does one fall in love with a certain person? What conscious and unconscious processes take place when choosing a partner? Is it all just a rush of hormones? And if love is involved, can we sustain the feeling forever? In order to find answers to these questions, five couples allow us to look through the keyhole at home, giving a personal insight into their everyday relationship, their lives, their big and small struggles + their way of loving. In addition, scientists from various disciplines analyze these five love models and, with the help of revealing experiments, concretely classify how the couples' relationship is doing. The experts also explain the complex biochemical, anthropological, sexual and psychological structures of romantic love.
In the ZDFneo social factual "How long is forever?" host Janin Ullmann also embarks on a personal search for the "secret of love" or the recipe for an everlasting relationship. After more than twelve years of partnership, her marriage failed - and now she wants to find out why. She explores the question of whether this life model still fits into our modern, fast-moving times, or whether it has long since become nothing more than the stuff of Hollywood movies.
