Hardly any event in a person's life is as momentous as the birth of their own child. Every birth is a miracle and unique. And yet there are many prejudices, insecurities and pressure to perform. If vaginal birth is considered the "natural" option, does a cesarean section have health risks for a baby? What happens to the body in this exceptional situation? Which approach is right for the woman and her body? Two couples and two different paths to birth: Hannes and Kathleen are preparing for the birth of their first child. Kathleen is a midwife herself and hopes for "the perfect birth." But then wish meets reality. For Franziska and Florian, too, it is their first child together. They are approaching their planned due date with mixed feelings: a cesarean section for medical reasons.
