The 30 tastiest specialities - A gourmet journey through Brandenburg

Regional specialities are more popular than ever. Elder blossom on Beelitz asparagus, eel from the Upper Havel or curd cheese with linseed oil from the Spreewald. But which speciality is the most popular? A gourmet journey through Brandenburg.

Brandenburg offers down-to-earth food, but also specialities for gourmets and sweets for those with a sweet tooth. Whether it's gherkins from the Spreewald or ice cream from Prince Pückler, black beer from the monks of Neuzelle or vendace from Lake Stechlin - the gourmet tour of Brandenburg shows how diverse the specialities of the Mark are and where you can best indulge in culinary delights.

It goes from the Spreewald to the Prignitz and from Lusatia to Oberhavel. In Schwante, master baker Karl-Dietmar Plentz awaits, who pulls the crispiest bread out of the wood-fired oven almost every weekend. A visit to the Tartsch family inn in the small Haveldorf village of Burgwall shows that if it were up to chef Siegbert Tartsch, there would be eel in aspic here every day.

What is the secret of the Uckermärker Nudel? How many rings does a Baumkuchen from Cottbus have? And why does the elderflower on an asparagus spear have a very special magic? This and much more awaits the viewers in "The 30 Tastiest Specialities".

Celebrities such as actress Uta Schorn, pop singer Chris Doerk, comedian Martin Tschirnich from Rathenow and the Stahnsdorf artist family Rita Feldmeier and Achim Wolff talk about their favourite specialities.

A jury decided on the order of the "30 tastiest specialities".
