After controversial comment about knockout drops: Comedian Faisal Kawusi live as guest on stern TV: When songwriter Silvi Carlsson wrote in an Instagram comment that she almost died from knockout drops, comedian Faisal Kawusi replied: "Next time I'll increase the dose, I promise". For decades he lived at large: Why the suspected murderer of Frederike von Möhlmann is now in custody after all: In 1981, 17-year-old Frederike was raped and murdered. The suspect Ismet H. is acquitted on appeal in 1983 for lack of evidence. In 2012, new DNA evidence is found that heavily incriminates him. For a long time, Ismet H. could not be charged again, but now he has been in pre-trial detention for several weeks.

One of the principles of the rule of law is that no one may be prosecuted twice for the same crime. A change in the law now makes this possible for serious crimes such as murder, if new evidence is found. In the Frederike murder case, the new law has meant that a suspect who was acquitted in 1983 has recently been remanded in custody. Based on new DNA evidence, he is to be tried again. How this came about and how criminal law expert Prof. Thomas Weigend assesses the case.
